Which one is JDM?

I'm quite confused. Are both of these center-bottom consoles JDM, or one of them is EDM?

left is EDM/JDM and the right is JDM, it was an optional extra though and is quite rare i believe, the elft one is very easy to get hold of

wow that i didnt know. Looks like the guy i bought the car off of added that. LOL i was going to replace some of it with a teg arm rest/cup holder.

the one on the right is not JDM. notice the lack of the right hand drive car? those are available on USDM cars. I just found 2 of them in a local junkyard. I picked up one for myself for $5

the one on the left looks like its custom made from the stocker "ashtray & cigarette lighter" piece with some sort of extension added.

well if its custom how come my VT had it stock then ??? and my dx has one in too now,

as for the car being a left hooker , the dials arent JDM so does that make them USDM........it all looks like a swap to me ?? i only thought it was JDM as the only car i have seen with it are SiR's and it was an option in Japan, i dont think it was in the UK/EDM market

whats the difference and does it really matter?

My hatch came with the one on the right. The one on the left looks kinda ghetto, where would you put your cd player in that?

I got the one on the left (in black) in my '88 Aussie GL Civic... the one on the right came with my JDM SiR :) Might have a line on a second JDM one from a frontcut - but Jim has dibs on one of them already :)

BTW - the one on the left is JDM style as well - just the double-DIN setup was the option as Jim pointed out...


however, looking at them carefully, the flat side is always next to the driver - both were designed for LHD cars, not RHD so my guess is EDM or USDM - not Aussie or JDM equipment (nor English?)

Ummm - EF9 has power windows, mirrors and steering. LOL - even the twin-carb Aussie ED6 GL had all of the above - and air-con as standard :D

That console is the standard one that came out on all JDM, EDM and Aussie spec Civics - they all got it stock... this was the option - it came with my EF9 SiR

Leather interior, too? Look at all those cool buttons that you can press! Don't tell me that EF9 comes with an armrest also... :angryfire This is so not fair!!! Why does US get the crappiest version :crying:

Nah - not leather interior - but nicer trim than the USDM and Aussie spec Civics. Buttons are auto climate control (another optional extra) - armrest was an option too - I had one that I fitted into a first gen Civic - I wish I'd kept it now when I sold the SBC.

JDM stuff is so nice. And what sucks is that every civic over here bearly came with any options. The JDM civics are so much better.
