Anyone else here with the same tranny have problems? My (dad's) Grand Prix shifts hard and one solenoid, i forget the name of it right now (ive been up for like 20 hours) sticks a lot, so it wont shift down until it unsticks

i tried putting transmission fix solution in it but it didnt help very much, my dad and I are probably going to have to rebuild it and replace the solenoid.

any of you have probalems, especially that solenoid (ill post the name tomarow) ?

if so just post here and if you have had to change the solenoid or drop the whole trans., how hard was it?

Teh solenoids are attached to the valve body, and are under the side cover. If the fluid still looks red, I wouldn't bother rebuilding the trans, just replace the TCC, and maybe the shift solenoids as well while you're in there and you should be good to go. you can drop the side cover on some cars without removong the trans, some you can't, its all about clearance.

yea its almost as hard to chenge the torque convertyer solenoid then it is to drop the whole thing, but i think we will jsut be changing the solenoid anyway
