1992 Cutlass Ciera

I'm looking to replace the head unit so I can listen to CDs but I can't even figure out how to remove the head unit that it came with... if anyone has any ideas as to how it's done please continue the thread.

Go to wal-mart and pick up a install kit for $10. It will tell you how to remove the dash bezel. Usually involves removing a couple of hidden screws and moving the gear shifter into 1st in order to get clearance to remove the bezel. They are either 7mm hex or sometimes Torx head screws. Try www.installdr.com also. I would also get a wiring harness from wal-mart also so that you don't have to cut any factory wiring. These two items are available in the Automotive section in most Wal-mart stores, and not in electronics. -Chris

I just checked installdr.com and they have color pictures and instructions on how to do it yourself. Just look under General Motors--> then buick/olds and you'll find a 93 cutlass install.

I had a 92 cierra. First look under the dash, under the first ledge you see there are some screws..take those out. Under the upper dash take out the visible screws, Drop the dash, but take out the boot surrounding the wheel and be careful taking out culumn surround. Before the mid section of the dash drops you must pop out the end vents on each end, and look back in there and there will be 2 screws hidden. Rip them out and take out srews on very ends or dash by door, and it should all come right out. The part surrounding the radio itself is held in with a couple screws but they will be uncovered when all the dash is gone. then unbolt the radio and there ya are.
