3.5 Fabtech lift

I'm thinking about putting the 3.5 in. Fabtech performance lift on my Tacoma. I've heard mixed things about rubbing and alignment issues. Anyone one have any input?

Yeah, I have a Fabtech performance lift on my truck in conjunction with a daystar body lift and really have had no problems even with 35" tires. Guess it really matter on the quality of the install.

are you guys talking about the 3.5 coilovers?
if so i heard that you can't lift past 2.5" with auto lock hubs.
theres a footnote on the fabtech website that says so.
and how long have you had the lift done?

yeah your probably right. I've talked to a few guys recently in person that had the lift I want and they had nothing but good things to say about it. Think I'm going for it. Thanks

Please clarify which Fabtech lift you are asking about. They offer a few different Tacoma 3.5" lifts.

They have on that is just bolt-in coil-overs for the front and a block for the rear.

They have another that is for 2wd only and has upper control arms and cheap shocks etc.

They might have more...

The new Fabtech "Dirt Logic" 2.5" diameter adjustable coil-over is really nice (made by Sway-A-Way) but should never be lifted over 2.5" regardless of 2wd or 4x4. 4x4's should not be lifted over 2.5" because the CV boots will rip and that will allow dirt into the CV's and cause them to fail. But the main reason that neither truck (2/4wd) should be lifted over 2.5" is that Toyota's only have 7" of travel up front, you want to have your truck sitting somewhere in the middle of that travel ( ~3.5" of compression and ~3.5" of droop) By lifting over 2.5" you are almost eliminating the droop travel. That will make the ride harsh because the wheels cannot fall into dips and holes because they have no room to move down.
