Just a few questions....

Hello,

I was planning on moving to Japan next year but sudden circumstances has postponed that idea for several more years, so I decided to buy a Skyline here from MotoRex but I have a few questions.

1.) I've read the stickys and other threads and it says you could get an R32 GT-R legalized for around $25K, but on the pricing chart on MotoRex's website its different, so which is it? I'm aware of the variation of price by year, model, etc...

2.) I've read on other forums that MotoRex isn't legalizing any Skylines for a while pending a court case? I couldn't get any helpful info since the threads wandered of subject and made it difficult to follow. Are they still taking orders for Skylines?, or just the ones they have for sale are the only legal ones for now.

Ok that about sums up my questions, sorry if this is has been asked before, I just want to get things cleared up. I tried contacting MotoRex by phone and email and I get no response so I posted this thread.

Ok I just ran across this on eBay and it says the R32 is going to a company called G&K Automotive in Califonia to be legalized. Is this a new company or another fraud? :(

If I remember correctly, G&K is the company that submitted the original compliance package for Motorex. they probably signed some sort of non-disclosure agreement with Motorex, so it is very unlikely that they would be helping anyone else legalize skylines...

even if it was legit, I would not buy that for the the current bid price... the substitute VIN number/chassis number begins with HCR, which means it's not a GTR... all R32 and R34 GTR chassis numbers begin with BNR and R33 GTR chassis numbers begin with BNCR... this car is most likely a GTS or GTS-T...

also, I highly doubt that this car has the RB26DETT engine in it unless they did an engine swap...

It's definitely not a GTR. The R32 GTR has very noticeable flared wheel arches. This car will only be a GTS-T at best as 'GTR_IN_SF' stated.

Its not a great photo to compare against, but you can see from the sunlight reflection how flared the standard GTR guards are.

Even if it had a heart transplant to a RB26DETT it will still be no where near a potent as the GTR due to rear wheel drive only. The details on ebay say that its 4WD, and the only other 4WD skyline around was the GTS4 and as far as I am aware that was only a limited run in the R33 model.

I dont know what you normally pay for a skyline in the US but that is real expensive for a GTS-T. we can get an R32 GTR for under AUD$30000.

It is NOT a GTR. As stated above...the rear quarters are in no way flared as a GTr would be. As such....with an RB26DETT, it has had an engine swap. It could have had a complete drive train swap BUT...If that is so....it would RARELY be worth the amount that is bid on it.

Ok thx. I only brought it up my thread because the seller said he was legalizing this R32 through G&K. Can anyone confirm this?

contact G&K. That would be the best option.
