Two Questions....
1) Did the USDM H22A engine change for model years 96 and 97?
2) Did the JDM H22A engine change for model years 96 and 97?
Thanks.

the H22A in both JDM and USDM models changed to accomodate OBD II in 1996.
in 1997, the H22A was redesigned and released as the H22A4. it started in 1997, and had 5 more HP and an open deck.

That's what I thought. But then someone who I have a lot of faith in, said that the JDM and USDM models don't match up year for year and that OBDII either doesn't exist in japan or came into effect later than 96.

OBD follows in each country... it's easier to manufacture that way, especially the 5th gen prelude since they're only made in Japan.
the Japanese versions make more power due to higher compression ratios.
