i was wondering how well audio equipment holds it value. im planning on buying 2 12 sony xplods with a 1200w amp. and if i ever want or need to sell it, how much will the value drop?

Buying sony... trying to sell it... at most you will get like 100 for everything. Get something worthwhile and it will keep its value well...

Like Haibane said, if you get something quality it will hold its value well, just like with cars. But if you get Sony you'll be lucky to sell it at all, and if you do manage to sell it it will be at a significant loss.

thanks, but why is sony not high enough quality? i dont knowhow to read and understand all the stats on equipment but from seein it hooked up in stores it seemed good to me. not tryin get in a brand war just wana know to learn

sony deosn't make very good quality car audio equipment, the stuff lacks sq, and doesn't perform well in general, the only thing that they make that is notable would be head units, and those don't last as long as others in their price range.....

And I don't like their headunits at all...

Im thinking of selling my current sub setup for about 400, and adding 100-150 to that....what eDesign combo should I aim for?

Also do you have them? Are they good? Any flaws?

no flaws for my likes... I setup my friend with a 12, a nine.2, and a custom box for 400 from them... that is what I recommend. If you want more hurry and buy, but otherwise you probably cant afford it.

they've pushed those amps back to much, to many times, i'd go with somethin else, you can get some damn nice stuff for 465$, like a 12 idmax, and how about a hifonics or a jbl amp to push it, great sq and great spl

The subs are shipping this next week. They have had to push those back, it is a preorder for a reason. The other companies are having same issues. It is a steel issue. Steel shortage. The other companies are having the same problem, but it doesn't effect them as much cause they are bigger. Subs are in, being built. Amps are on a boat...
