Hey
I was driving home last night when my 1990 esi stalled, i tried turning it back on while coasting but it wouldnt start. I pulled over and tried again, the motor wouldnt even turn over. All that would happen is a loud grinding noise whenever i tried starting it. I poped the hood and everything looks fine. But then i realized that if u put the car in gear while its off and push it, it will move while making that same grinding noise as when i tried starting the car. Could this mean my flywheel is screwed. Any help would be appreciated!!

northriverflames;
I may be wrong, but it sounds to me like your timing belt jumped time, and you have valve to piston contact. You may have jammed your starter gear into the flywheel too.
