my 2002 mountaineer quit blowing heat.
a/c works great and blower works, but no warm air.
i had a blend door squeeking a couple of months ago and the dealer fixed it (or not).
has anyone had this problem???? :banghead:
all comments welcome

I heard that the blending door was a cheap piece of plastic that didn't hold up very long. I had a problem with the one in my '98, but since that vehicle is now totaled, I never got around to actually pulling it out for the repair. If my 2000 Mountaineer develops the same problem, I'll just hand make one out of aircraft aluminum!

pull the glove box door down - going through the hole look for a white motor on top of the heater case - on the top of the motor is a round hole - put your finger on the hole and move the selector from hot to cold and feel for the motor turning - if it turns and you dont notice a change in air flow and/or temp the door is broken and you will need to replace the entire case

Bryan,

Does yours have the Dual Zone Automatic temperature control? I had a similar issue, but with mine the A/C would only work on one side of the car due to something screwed up the the dual temperature control. If you have that type of setup as well, it could be something similar, see if the heat will work on the passager side.

Do you have rear A/C? If so, does the heat blow back there?

Sean
