Replace 2.8 L with 4.3 L Engine?

I own an immaculate 1988 Chevy S-10 Blazer with a 2.8 L V6 engine, 4 wheel drive and manual transmission. The engine now has over 140,000 miles on it and I am thinking of replacing it with a rebuilt 4.3 L V6 engine. Is this advisable? Is it complicated and expensive? Are there special things to consider that aren't obvious? Can the drive train handle the extra power? Does mileage improve or decline?

Drive the 2.8L into the ground an then swap a 350 in.

You will need to swap some new engine mounts in but there is guide on how to do it.

Problem with either option is the transmission from a 2.8 will not bolt up to a 4.3 or 350. Swapping to either will require a new tranny. I went through this on an 85. Bottom line, if you're gonna do it, either go with another 2.8 or go all the way to a 350! (btw...a 4.3 and a 350 both use the same tranny bellhousing and bolt pattern)
