Here's the deal, my friend has a 95 honda prelude non v-tec 2.3l w/ 2.5 inch exhaust (may be gutted cat), CAI, H22 Head, and lowered only in the front...what are my chances against him, i'm told he is a really good/best in town as a racer, i'm kinda average to good and i'm running the car thats in my sig mods follows.

it isnt vtec, he's got the base model 2.3l no vtec to my knowledge, but his friends said an h22 head on it, so does that make it vtec?

Thats right, the 2.3L models (H23) came with no vtec.
However, by mating an h22 head onto his h23 block, he's done what is essentially a "vtec conversion".

well ... i guess that screws me, so he's putting out roughly...210 at the crank? or more?

Its safe to say he's putting out around 200 to the crank. Plus or minus 5-10.

well...h23/h22 conv. is pretty deep sh** u'll prolly get smoke but atleast try to keep up with him if u loose by 1-2 1/2 car's then u did pretty good...(just don't talk smack about u beating him...cause that last thing u wanna do is get HUNG!!)

hes most likely gonna win - and he doesn't neccessarily have to be a good driver. just a decent driver.

darn...it would still be interesting though, i did figure that i'd ask u all this question (the thread starter) cuz i kno preludes are fast...but the mitsu guys don't have a clue..."yeah man preludes are nothing"...uh huh suuuurrrreeee
i'll pull the jack and spare, the backseat and lower the tire pressure to 25 or so and pump in the octane boost and run my car when its on E
i'm still working on my launches so i'll prolly lose but wish him luck ne ways

Run the race at a quarter tank. Running on empty and racing don't seem to go together well. Running on fumes isn't exactly great for your car :grinno:
What you lack in power, you can make up for in driving skill. Remember, winning is still a possibility. Don't give up, practice your launches and shifting techniques.
