lowering a 94 GS

i want to lower the front end on my 94 regal..but because of the monoleaf rear, lowering springs aren't made for this generation of regals. the 95-99 monte carlo (w-body like regal) has the same front suspension and i know the springs are interchangable. will front lowering springs for the monte actually lower the regal or will it sit at stock height. has anyone done this or know of anyone who has.......successfully. would like to see the front drop 1.5 -2.0 inches.
