well today i was going to head off to the drag races, and i didn't even make it 20 miles from home when all of the sudden my engine starts knocking like a mother! well basically it sounds like i spun another rod bearing, god this sucks!

were you the one that said underdrive pulleys make you spin bearings?

haha yeah, didn't even have it on this car! and this car has 63,000 miles on it! i've had it for like 7 months now and didn't drive it that hard, considering most of the time i was in miami where the traffic is so horrendious you spend most of your time sitting...

ah, either way. Atleast its not that hard to fix.

i got the oil pan off, def. spun the number 2 rod bearing, most likely i'll have to get a new crank, and bearings and all that good fun stuff...

why a new crank? just get it turned and get oversized bearings. Cranks are expensive

depends on how bad its scored... last time i spun a bearing it was fuct... i haven't pulled the rod cap off yet, but i have a feeling she's pretty bad under there... i'm looking into picking up another block.

haha yeah but the road bearings have very little to do with the head... its hard to tell why that on spun... but anyway its time to go rip it the rest of the way apart...

spun a bearing = i gotta block that has #1 spun around 47,000 miles. the bearings are cheap but im considering if i should reuse the crank or not. I know i should get the crank checked; but i live in a place where its hard to get parts, they're expensive locally (i practically ship everything in) and everyone wants to charge up a high price just to look at the crank for me......

wow and i thought my milage was bad! and from what i hear around where i live its about 180 bucks to turn the crank and get new bearings with it, while i can go and get a y8 block for 90 bucks, replace the bearings and end up with about the same price... its a tough choice

Well since getting another block and replacing the bearings on that for the same price...then i'd go for it. Keep the other block and build it up :)

i retract my last stament to get the crank turned is 150, then the oversized bearings are 100 more... so it looks like i'm getting an y8 block
