Just hit the online insurance shops for prices. No commitment to get it. The easiest way to find your answer instead of looking for someone who fits your profile.

Being an insurance agent who actually works with new york insurance. I can already tell you that your insurance will be expensive as hell. Not only will your liability rates be through the roof, you also will have PIP on there (mandatory) that will be sooooo damn expensive due to your age.

FYI your insurance will be less expensive at 19 though at least.

how much did you pay with your parents insurance?

1) i never had my vr4 on my parents insurance (didn't buy the car until I was 23)
2) I live in Iowa, not New York, so insurance is dirt cheap. my 6 month prem for 2 cars combined is like 705/6 months.

it's a medical coverage that covers you for $50,000 of medical bills if you are hurt in your car, someone else's car, or as a pedestrian. it also carries a work loss benefit.

the price on your insurance depend heavily on 1) age, 2) sex, 3) location, 4) credit, 5) driving record, 6)vehicle.

I would recommend calling GEICO since in NY they have some of the best rates (if you can qualify for the preferred rate)

Do a search, as this has been addressed like 2,000 times. I live in NY with a vr4 and got my rates dropped from 5k a year to under 3k, by researching every deduction possible. I listed a bunch of deductions in the other threads that you can use to lower your rates.
