Lexus SC400 A/C dash light blinks & does not cool?

I have a 92 Lexus & for the past 3 months the A/C has been working sporadically. I since have had it serviced & freon added but problem persists.
In past it would work fine but when I shut off engine 50% chance the dash A/C light would start blinking. Once this happen it does not cool.
Any one have any answers or had a similar problem.

It is your AC sensor. You can get the part at Lexus dealer for about $100 and do it yourself. If you bring it to the dealership they will tell you the whole AC unit and will cost you about $1800 which they quoted me and I had my mechanic did it for me. Tin Man

Thanks Tin Man. I was told there are about 5 A/C sensors on the Lexus. Do you have any idea how I determine which one is defective, or do I replace all?

I think it's the one attached to the compressor. Let me check with my mechanic and I will let you know for sure.

Sorry it took awhile for me to get back with you. My mechanic told me the sensor to the AC compressor and it locates on the side of it. Good luck!
