Try Krylon Fusion paints, the only prep is cleaning the plastic before applying the paint. Unless you want the smooth look then sanding would be your first step. I found that http://www.freemansupply.com/KrylonFusionPaint.htm has the best selection of colors. Hope this helps.

Have some taste when you do it.
Don't paint your interior parts white when you have green exterior paint for example.

I used Dupli-color auto paint. I sanded the dash bezel and other misc. interior parts smooth then used a filler primer (Dupli-color) to fill any small imperfections. A few coats of paint is best and finish it off w/ lots of clear coat. I've got picts. but I'm not used to this forum yet! Email me If you'd like to see them. [email protected]

Pint the interior parts the same color as the exterior.

I will be honest with you bro, don't go an off color like that, the interior will look like absolute shit when people look at it in a black truck.

not the whole interior is going to be blue, just a few small pieces

I know, I have seen people do it and it looks VERY VERY BAD.
Interior painting should match something on your truck and not some arbitrary color out of no where bro.
Painting it a different color just looks plain silly, unprofessioanl and people will honestly laugh at it.
Trust me, I have seen it happen.

i totally agree that it can look silly, i've seen it, thats why if i do it i will not over do it and make it look good. i have blue wiring under the hook and blue lights in my truck that look wicked at night so if i make anything blue in my truck it look good atleast i think..

I found that a 3M gray scotch brite pad and some rubbing compound works great.Just spray your part down with water then put some compound on the pad and scuff your part then rinse and dry and your good to go.Make sure the compound doesn't contain silicon. The problem with sanding is you will get scratch marks and then you will have to prime the part and sand again. It will look good when your done but is very time consuming. If you want to do it quicker then do the first process and it looks good also.Whatever way you do it make sure the PART IS CLEAN,if there is any Armorall on it you will get fisheyes and that will look like shit.My opion of a color would be a silver, charcoal, gray, something along that line.

Can you believe that Chevy put a Brown interior, in my Black Blazer... Good thing that my spare parts truck had a red interior, but I'm still re-fresh all the panels with Krylon Fusion paints, and they seem to work Great, Although I would prefer a black interior.

Actually, that light brown gold color is well sought after and is extremely attractive.
WTF are you doing putting red interior in.
You guys need to take art class or something because you seem to have no idea what colors compliment each other.

ive done a few cars and trucks. the best was my mustang. i went to my local paint store and ordered the same auto paint that ford used on my car. the mustang is electric green. so they ordered it up from the paint code on the car and got it for me in a spray paint can. came out awesome. do light coats. i used Krylon too. works well. if you put to much it will run. dont rush it. if you go with Krylon Fusion, get the first coat done, wait oh say an hour and get second coat on. but dont mess with it for a few days after that. if you were to take your finger nail, it will come off, it needs a while to dry and set up. dont listen what the can says, its say drys in 12 minute. when your done. wait say 2 days to dry and become hard. trust me, i just did the whole inside of my 74 camaro (Black Satan). b4 you start, clean the trim and plastics. i used dish shop as for washing dishes. it cuts the dirt and grease. if there was any ARMORALL or such on it, it will not let the paint stick. if you clear coat it, dont use much and wait a while for that to dry. seem like the clear makes everything wet again. i didnt care for the like crear much. it messed my up a few times. maybe i did it wrong. but any other questions, ask TAKE YOUR TIME oh and if you have a black truck and black inside, get some yellow on the outside. maybe some wide racing strips. and paint the few parts in the inside yellow to match.

well i dont really like yellow.. haha i love blue and i love black and silver... the drums and caplipers on my account are blue so they stand out

well if you like blue, do it. maybe blue strips. but if you go blue, go dark navy blue, not blue blue, that wouldnt look that good. i think dark blue would look hot. i would go with a auto paint with metallic. theres a blue out there on a car not sure what it is on, i forgot, it looks good. if you like blue and black, go with it. you own the truck, you drive it. you have to live with it. so if you like it, do it. i dont care what anyone thinks of my cars. i had piss on ford on my mustang, i guess im just another redneck. lol. but make sure you have the blue inside to match the out side. you knwo what i mean? what year s-10 is this. i just went to carlisle, PA for the big truck show down there a few weeks ago. i have a bunch of pics of nice s-10s all years, everything. if you want ill send you some to get some ideas. there cool .

Well BlazerLt I kept the brown seats from my Blazer, and the carpet... If you want them you can have them. They are all in GREAT shape.
I'm doing up 2 hotrods, and was kinda hoping that the seats would fit in the 4 door. But they won't. It appears that cars have gotten alot wider since they made my 1928 Essex's...

Thanks I just don't really like brown.
If there is anyone close to Kelowna B.C. that wants my Brown seats, and carpet for a 85 4x4 auto Blazer they can have them... if they pick them up.
They are in perfect shape, the truck was never smoked in.

I Know This Is Bringing Up An Old Post, But I Have A Fire Engine Red Ext. And I Painted The Dash Panels Brushed Aluminum. The Dash Itself Is Brown Right Now (yuck!), And The Door Panels And Interioir Are A Tannish Brown. I Put A Cover On All Seats (silver Metal Flames On Black And Red Background On The Front Two, Black Velour On Rear Seat, Black With Silver And Gold Flames On Backrest.) I Am Redoing The Header Tonight With Black Velour(thin), And I Relayed The Int. Carpet Last Week With Black Autocarpet From Menards(quite A Bargain I Must Say!) I Want To Spray The Door Panels And Rear Panels With Black, But I Need To Know How Many Coats Of Top Coat Shoul I Put On? Oh, This Is On My 84 S10 Blazer, By The Way

To be perfectly honest I painted the tailgate liner (or whatever you call it) on my 85 blazer with just 2 coats, 4 months ago with that Krylon fusion paint I've been insanely busy so I haven't had time to install it (2 min job I know) leaving it outside through the desert sun, and 2 freek snow storms, and it still looks like the day that I painted it... without any clear coat

How Much Would You Want For The Carpet? And Is It Brown? Or Some Other Color?

Sorry Blazerboy69, yes the carpet was brown, but I hauled it to the dump 2 weeks ago. I would have probably just sent it away for the cost of postage.
I still have the seats if you need brown seats, I don't think that they even have a cigerette burn on or anything.
I think that I paid $15.00cndn for my carpet from a self serve auto wreck, since my parts truck had a plastic mat instead

krylon is great, use alcohal to clean it (denatured alcohal not paint thinner, paint thinner dries to slow and leaves a residue) sand the parts lightly and give 2 or 3 light coats of paint, did it to my door handle guards, the full dash and air vents, every thing that doesnt have velor on it still looks awsome, no fade, no bleach effect, no chipping, chipping is the big problem with painting plastic, paint usually doesnt stick to plastic for shit, this krylon is the only thing ive used ever that has stuck
