hydrolock on my 99 civic SI!! need new engine help!!!!!!

:banghead: so i get the car i have always wanted i've had it for about 2 months now i love it to death... and we have been having very very bad weather here in iowa and i have a ram air intake in my car. and had no choice but go through this puddle as slow as i could but nope didnt make it through my intake sucked water into my combustion chamber and when it stalled on me water was where my pistons are and of course nowhere for the water to go. so it basicaly shot a hole through my BLOCK!! so now i need a new engine and i thought if i need a new one why not get a faster one right? well thats where you all come in place. i need help what should i put in my 99 honda civic Si !!!! help. please. bye bye

na just rebuild the one u have. take it complely aprat and check for major damage. should still be good tough. how u get a ram air to suck up water? must of been like a 3 ft deep pond?

Damn girl let me tell you the cheapest way to fix it quick. U dont need a whole new motor. Get yourself a gsr (b18c) or a type r (b18c5) SHORT BLOCK. Swap out your torqueless 1.6 block and u got yourself a 1.8! Just use all your existing parts. LIke i said just swap out blocks and your fine. Cheap and easy ;)

thank you guys for your help but i decided to turn it into my insurence and they are going to cover it they got me a whole new engine with 0 miles on it. so thats what iam gonna do didnt want to but $$$$ aint got it right now. Glad to hear you got it all sorted out. A fresh 0 mile engine is WAY better than any swap. As for pics, go here (http://files.automotiveforums.com/) and then look for the "upload photos" link at the top, hnear the center. :)

well what i did to fix me car was called my insurance and told them what happend.. and yeah it's at the honda dealer getting a brand new engine.. so yeah thats what i did.
