Removing Starter on 93 taurus

I attempted to remove my starter (to replace it) in my 93 taurus, but I can only find one bolt holding it to the engine. I know it has to have more than just one, but I can't find it.

All I do see is a hole that looks like a pin is in there, or a bolt with it's head sheard off. There is also the bolt that grounds the battery to the engine block, could that also be the one that holds the starter in place?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

ok I got the starter off and put the new one on, and still it dosen't work. Is there any kind of fuse that could have blown between the starter and the switch in the steering column?

Have you checked to see if the solenoid clicks when the key is turned? Only thing I can think of is bad solenoid, bad ignition switch, or a faulty wire somewhere.. Jump the solenoid with a screw driver and see if it starts turning over.

I know this is going to sound a little stupid, but are you absolutely sure your battery and battery cables are in good shape? Always start simple, and I'm sure you have, but often overlooked, battery cables can be completely broken in half under the insulation and only upon close inspection will you find it, or with a voltmeter. Gotta make sure that ground cable is grounded well to the block also. Make sure none of the battery cables have somehow chaffed up against something and grounded themselves out either. I hope these suggestions help, but you've probably already checked em'.

well I checked my fuses and found a 60 amp fuse was blown. Changed it out and it started right up! But this morning I was on my way to work and stopped for gas and it wouldn't start up again. It blew the same fuse. Does that mean I have a short somewhere in my electrical system. It will start using a screwdriver to jump the solenoid, but it's a pain going under there to do that everytime I want to start the car.

Any idea what could be causing the short?
