Anybody out there have an idea of how long it will take to replce the head gaskets on the 2.8 V-6 S-10. I have done it on other cars, but wanted to get an idea of how long it will take on the Blazer.

if your good you can do it in one full day. if your beginner, get help and you might be able to get it done in a weekends time.

Huh, we are talking about a head gasket here, not that hard with the right tools, torque specs and the parts.

Full day or weekend? Hardly.....

It might take more than a few hours... If you send the heads off to the machine shop to get shaved, ported and polished, along with a valve grind and new guides installed.

true, but we are talking about a stock swap here.

i highly doubt an individual who has never done heads on the particular vehicle will be able to do it in a few hours. as i said give yourself 1 full day or a weekends time. its a guarantee that your going to break parts, nuts, and bolts. especially up north with rust.

I never said a "few hours" so please stop saying that.

But it is not a 10 hour job when you have the right tools.

it is too someone who doesnt know the vehicle. tools dont mean s$#t to someone that doesnt know what to do. taking things apart is the easy part. remembering where they go when your ready to put them back on is a different story. pedal2metal when you finish this head job post your time on here. i guarantee it will be a weekends time.

Well Pedal2metal sayes that he has replaced head gaskets, So I'm sure that he won't have any real problems at all

The Torgue specs for the engine are
Head bolts 40 ft. lbs. Then tighten 1/4 turn
Follow this order
6 2 3 7
5 1 4 8

Intake Manifold Bolts
23 ft. lbs.
Apply sealent to bolts 1, and 2
Follow this order
8 4 1 5 9
7 3 2 6 10

It's really not that hard, and good luck
