Smog headers for trucks

I was looking into this last year, but didnt buy 'em yet.

Question: has anyone ever used "Smog legal headers"?
You know the type with the air injection tubes welded to the runners. (Edlebrock makes the most popular ones)

I looked at a set up close. The tubes & welds dont look very strong. I was wondering if they would rust/break/crack, after a few years? I dont need raw flame shooting out ya know.
