So i got an 88 civic hatch with a 95 D16z6. things i'm planning on doing...Bore it over and sleeve it. Getting a crank thats better than stock but stock specs, crower pistons, doing the head work ( 1 mm valves over intake/exhaust) cam, cam gear and springs, port/polish , Dc sports headers, and exhaust of course.
But i'm wondering if any one has had any experience with the Greddy, Prefomer X or Apexi turbo's. any input would be great! thanks guys
Or should i just save up for a B18?

why change the crank when the stock one is good to over 500hp and you wont be breaking 150?

As much as i agree with you on the stock crank being good enough, if the kid actually goes through with his setup of a big bore d series with mods & turbo, he should be putting down over 250whp. Hell, i've seen many 100% bone stock sohc vtec's @ 10psi putting down over 200whp.
your figures are a little low :S

A stock, well basic, kit from greddy will get you 168hp at the wheel with a stock D16Z6 no mods other than the turbo kit. That is not including a intercooler either. With some tuning and a intercooler pushing 220Whp on a stock motor runing 10psi. I have seen it done twice so thats no lie.

Ya but if it was a choice of HEADER(notice no "S"") or turbo what would you choose? HMMMMMM its going to be hard but think about it.

headers is a correct format. There are four header pipes joined by a single flange. Therefore it is a set of headers.
Please dont argue with me, I've been into 4G's for 6+ years, and cars for longer.

man, thats the first person i've seen with a point to call them headers. ill still stick to calling it a header since i consider headers somthing you would put on a v6 or v8..
