I got some Si seats to put in my 89 cx, and I need to know if my new seats are from an 88-89 or a 90-91. The stiching in the middle is black and red. I have a feeling that makes a difference. Can anyone tell me?

Okay, the seats in the pic you posted are different from the ones I bought. The ones I bought have red and black dtripes as opposed to the silver in the your car. Does this mean I have 88-89's?

If you have 88-89 CRX si seats... you can always give them to me :-D ANd the red will match my car... I need to get rid of the two leather seats I have...

I've seen a few 91 civic si's with red and blue stiching, but it's really tiny to notice. At glance, you can't tell but just the black/gray color it emits. But my guess though is that they may be crx.
One easy way to tell if they're crx or civic seats is the headrest. They look identical but the two holes that hold the metal bar on the headrests are the indicator. CRX's have two seperate pieces of plastic holding each bar into place. Very wide too. The civic is one whole piece where they are close together.
Hope that helps.

so i checked my seats. they are the blue and red sitching, very small like u said, and yes the gray/black emits more. as for the head rest deal. the part where the two bars are attached to the seat, they are two plastic bars, bout an inch wide. but like i said earlier about the rails, the ones wont even come close to a direct bolt on. where they mount to the floor, its at a 45 deg. angle on both ends. not just the front,
like = /----\
where as the one in my civic, the front is a 45 deg. angle and the rear ones are flat,
like= /----_
HELP haha

Dood...some pics would help. I have 90 Integra seats which almost bolted into my 91 DX sedan. I had to grind the front mounts off my Civic seats (welded on), and then grind the mounts off the Integra seats (also welded on), and then bolt the Civic front mounts on the Integra rails (I used the same holes that I ground out from the welds/rivets)
I dunno how long they archive stuff here, but I had a detailed "how-to" post a while back :)
Edit - here is the thread about my Integra seats. Keep in mind that with the sedan, I had to find seats with the goofy shoulder belt roll, and the 90-91 Integras have that :thumbsup:
If nothing else, maybe this will give you some ideas on how to massage those seats into your car - my intial plan was to swap rails, but that turned out to be a real pain, so the little bracket turned out to be the easiest ;)
