I have an annoying problem that started last night on my 98 Civic 3 door hatchback 1.4, its a limited edition model in the UK (Illusion)
When accelerating in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear the handbrake light comes on, it lights up on the dash as if the handbrake is on but the handbrake is down fully but it still lights up!
I havent touched any electricals or wiring so nothing to do with that.
Anyone have any ideas?
Cheers people

i ok what you need to do is go to a auto parts store and buy some brake fluid then put it in your car because the same light goes on if ur low on fluid. same thing happened to me. lemme know how that works for ya

Could also be that your rear brake pads/shoes are set too tight, and they are contacting the disc/drum (I don't know what 98s had in the UK) even without the e-brake handle being up. You may need to adjust your calipers or the e-brake wire tension. Not too hard to do yourself, and not too expensive to have done at a shop if you don't want to.

Thanks guys, I'll give that a check it could be that as I had to change the brake lines due to corrosion last month, Damn rain and road salt here in the UK!!!!!!!!
Kafziel my rears are drums and I've suffered no loss in performance so don't think they'll be sticking but I'll take a look anyway.
Thanks for all the advice, I really like this forum it's just a shame about the time difference in the UK to the US as there don't seem to be many users on the site when I'm on due to the difference.
Thanks again!

Justchad25 you are the man that was exactly what it was though i can't for the life of me think i was so dumb not to check that!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the advice, it was just below the min line so it was obviousle sloshing around during acceleration hence it lighting up then going off.
Cheers man
