What's the deal with my radio/CD?

I just bought a 99 corolla, and the radio in it just has a cassette player. But why then is there a CD button on it? There's no place to insert a CD!

My dad's truck has the same ordeal. It has a CD button but nowhere for CDs. It's just for looks I guess.

I have seen some car stereos with an input jack and a CD button. Perhaps yours has one that you can hook a portable cd player to. I have seen them on the front of the stereo or in the back.

that would be a function for if you have a portable cd player or you have a cd changer...

your car probably has a DIN slot bellow it for the factory CD player, or the button might be for the CD changer.

Haha, there's nothing in the trunk darn it. Wish there was a changer back there! :)
