hi guys i need some help with my car I've had it for eight months and i've only installed and intake and the exhaust I have also done all the proper maintainace (according to the manual) it has 52,xxx miles and its a 98 GST auto. okay let me tell you the problems and see if you guys can give me advice on what to do it has a costant ticking sound very annoying and yesterday that i was driving and made a stop it sounded louder so i put it in neutral and rev the engine a little and it sounded worse like if there was no lubrication so i reved it again and the sound was gone. i've notice that sometime it throws white smoke thru the exhaust i drive normal until somebody comes next to me and revs there engine then i just have to show them who is the boss but im thinking all that might of fucked up my engine. also sometimes but rare the car tends to vibrate a little well i hope you guy can help me out with this problem

Nice car bud! The ticking noise you hear is probably lifter tick...there are many fixes people believe in to remedy it, but the only way to be sure to solve the problem is to have revised lifters installed in place of the old ones. Search DSMtuner.com for "lifter tick" and you will come up with a few thousand threads ;).
If your car throws white smoke when you are driving, you could have a head gasket problem. It shouldn't expel white smoke after the first few minutes of driving, and if it does, it means coolant is somehow getting in your cylinders and being expelled as exhaust gas.

well sorry for bringing this back again but i took my car to the dealer (still under warranty) and they said it was missing 1 1/2 qts of oil and thats way it was making the noise. but i do my oil changes every 3000 miles and it would still make the noise even after the oil change i was wondering were did the missing oil go because the car has no visible leaks. I also took it so they could check a squeking noise in the front right tire i was thinking it was a wheel bearing because i had the same problem with the rear tires. but this time it happened to be the brake pads were worned out. but the wierd part is i only had them on for 6 months they were the EBC pads and like i said i had the car for 8 months and this is my first dsm do this cars wear out the front brake pads frequently?

dont try to blow it up... whats wrong with it now? where was the oil goin?
if you really want to fuck up the motor, unplug the small hose that comes off the wastegate (really small hose attacted to the round part bolted to the turbo) and unplug the throttle position sensor (wires that are visable plugged into the side of the throttle body - 4 wired flat plug) and go out on the highway, do a pull in OD (overdrive)... get up to about 45, put it in OD and push the gas to the floor, you will probably hit a boost spike of 23-25psi and with the TPS unplugged the tranny wont shift so you will get major knock and detonation = can you say melted/cracked piston
yea its been done before in a buddies auto GST (he wanted a new motor too)... dont ask ~ we got creative :p

well the oil is going to the exhaust and its making a loud knocking sound not the normal ticking sound and they wont fix it becuase the car has to have what they call "ENIGINE BREAKDOWN" well thank for the idea i might just do it
by the way this is my warranty http://www.nissanusa.com/owning/QualityGuardPreOwnedFAQ/0,,,00.htm
