boost cut controller

Here's the deal. I have just purchased a 91' MR2 turbo and it came with a bunch of after market parts such as a turbo timer and boost controler, and I have been having trouble getting these parts to work, mainly the boost controler (cant figure out how to set psi levels...) :banghead: It's a GReddy PRofect-B controller. I have also been wondering if i have the fuel cut disabled. In my trunk next to my ECU there is a little black GReddy part that has boost cut control writin on it. Is this the same thing as a Fule Cut Defender? If not what is it???

The GReddy Boost Cut Controller ELIMINATES fuel cut.
The HKS Fuel Cut Defencer RAISES the fuel cut point, so they are not the same.
The GReddy is a waste of $$ IMO since you ca nget rid of FC fo free :)

Dang, that isnt good. knowin me ill end up blowin some gaskets.. I have also noticed that when I am out of gear and rev it up (in pulses) that the engain light comes on. I was thinking it's because of the b.o.v (aftermarket Blitz) Thanks for your help...

I am not sure what code I get.... I did try it again today and the light did not come on! Must just be because its been sitting up? I hope so anyway. Thanks for the help.

If you lit the cell (engine light), then you got a code.
If you got a code, it is stored in the ECU.
In the engine bay there is a little box that says "daignistics" on it.
It is on the engine/trunk firewall.
Pop it open ... there will be a diagram on the inside of the "lid".
Jump TE1 to E1. You can use a paper clip or a spare piece of wire.
Turn your ignition key to the right to the spot BEFORE the car would start. Do not start the car.
If you are in the correct spot, the check engine light will start to flash in code.
If it flashes really fast with no stops, you have NO CODES stored.
Other wise count the flashes:
Let's say you get 5 shorts flashes, slight pause, 2 short flashes, long pause.
That is CODE 52.
After the long pause, it will restart the code you have.
You may have more than 1 one code stored!
They will repeat over and over as long as TE1 and E1 are jumpered.

The only code the ECU gave out was 3 and 5. 35. Looking the code up in my manual I discoved that the problem was a shortage in volts to the ECU.. While reading the manual I noticed something about the a/c. My MR2's a/c was takin out a long time ago. Could this be the problem?

Code 35 is the code for the Turbopreossure sensor signal. That is the OEM MAP (manifold pressure sensor). It is located right next to the diagnostic box.
That would be where your GReddy Boost Cut Controller is tapped into.
I suspect the install is not correct which is what is giving you that code.

I did notice that a wire was sticking out of the Ox1 port in the diagnostic box. It was not put in very well so I added a little plug on it and put it inside the port. Im not sure if this is what was wrong but the engine light has not come on again.
I have also noticed that the person who owned the car before me did a very poor job of wiring things. Today i fixed 3 problems with wiring and blown fuses

The codes are stored in the ECU until you reset the ECU.
Reset the ECU by pulling out the 2 ECU/EFI fuses in the engine bay fuse box.
I believe you need to leave the fuses out for 30 seconds or so to reset the codes.
If you have no codes, the check engine light flashes conisistently (no pauses) when TE1 and E1 are jumpered.
