my 2004 silverado, unfortunately, doesn't have power locks or windows. i guess i can deal with the windows but i can't stand the locks. im always having to reach over and unlock the door, and then i always forget to lock them. i am also going to be installing an alarm system on my car and it would be pretty lame for it to not lock my doors when i hit the button. is there any kind of setup or kit to change my locks to power locks, if so where would i find this? would it be a dealer thing or an aftermarket product? also, if its aftermarket, would it be compatible with the alarm system i'll be putting in. any suggestions please, thanks.

One thing to do would be to find a donar truck with the same color interior as yours and just take the entire door panel and guts. You might be able to find something for a reasonable price at a wrecking yard.

Power door locks are very easy to get installed. Any local shop that installs alarms will also install power door locks. Make sure you get a "central" locking kit. With this kit there will be no holes cut for lock and unlock buttons. These work when one door is locked the other locks at the same time and vice-versa. They are compatible with all alarm systems. It makes for a much cleaner look because there are no cheap aftermarket swithes. They are not that expensive either. I am not sure where you are at, but here in Kansas City I install them for $125- $150. Any other questions about it let me know. Good luck.
