By new, I assume you mean 99-04. The regular model is powered by a 3.8L pushrod V6, making 190 hp and 220 torque. The Mustang GT is powered by a 4.6L SOHC V8, making 260 hp and 302 torque. The Mustang Mach 1 is powered by a 4.6L DOHC V8, making (not sure about this) 305 horsepower and 305 torque. All of them come with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic.

There is also the top-of-the-line Mustang SVT Cobra, which comes with a 4.6L DOHC supercharged V8 making 390 hp and 390 torque. It comes with a six-speed manual only.

All Mustangs of any kind are front-engine, rear-wheel-drive.

Stock for stock would the '05 Mustang V6 be able to take a Pre 93 GT? Seems it has about the same power as a 5.0 !! I Could be mistaken!!

I think thats pushing it a little. A V6 pushing 202 vs a stock 5.0 pushing 225 is quite a statement, however going as far to say it would take a stock 5.0 especially a pre 93 is taking it a little far. My money is on the GT.

Also the Pre-93 GT is gonna weigh less and have more torque.

I thought the pre '93 had about 205 hp and 270 ft-pd torque. Not much more than '05 V6. But like I said I could be mistaken!!

To answer the guy's question, Yes they are reliable. I've owned a 95 6 cylinder, No problems over 4 years, a 97 Cobra, No problems over 3 years, and now an 03 Cobra for 6 months and 3,000 miles. No Problerms.

225 HP @ 5500 RPM
300 TQ @ 3200 RPM

'93s had the figure you stated, while the cobras of that year had 235 horse. not sure how much torque they made, but it was more than 300.
