well ive really been looking around for quick ways to make hp on my gt. ive been thinking about nitrous. i was looking at a zex kit. http://www.pfyc.com/store/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PFYC&Product_Code=GN3009&Product_Count=37&Category_Code=GPUNDER can i just bolt this kit right up to my stock engine or do i need any other things on it such as pistons and stuff cause if i do then looks like no nitrous. also is this a good kit or should i look at any other kit. or if anyone knows of a good quality used kit?????

havnt seen a better looking kit than that for gps. wouldnt recomend nos in general tho, not worth the money it will end up costing you unless you are serious about racing

it is very possible to use nos safely, but most of the time cars that use it need more repairs and etc than those who dont, especially on the tranny. It is not by any means a gentle hp increase and in my personal opinion it is not worth running nos unless you stand to win money by winning races

Let's get back to the nos. If you want to rebuild motors. Waste a lot of money. Then do it. I just bought a car with it. Motor has "0" miles on it with nos hooked up. Car has 17 miles on it now. And I will tell you, this car will never have one mile on it with it hooked up.

Looks good in pictures and movies. But it will never go into one of my motors. But I do love the sound of some fool's motor being eat'n up.

I will agree with everyone above. I learned the hard way when I was in my early days of trying to find a way to spend money on a car. Had nos in a 68 torino and wasted the engine in no time. Lucky for me the only thing under the hood of that car was an engine a couple hoses and a few wires. A simple job to swap engines on a $1200 car. No way would I risk it in my GP.

wait a minute here! am i wrong or is it true the the reason nos wrecks engines is that the engine runs to lean or too rich causing it to blow up, now i dont see why a system that controls the engine from getting too rich or to lean would be hard on a car, given that i still wouldnt put nos in an engine with stock rings rods and pistons, i plan on doing an engine swap into my 1995 gtp to a s/c 3.8 but im going to build a pretty stout engine to go along with it including a fuel management system so the problem of running to rich or to lean shouldn't occur. if nos only applies to a stock engine then id definatly NOT use it but in my case i think ill be pretty safe using a 75 shot of Zex i think they make the best kits that i know of any way. shooting for 400 hp with out nos so im sure i should be able to handle nos.
just waiting until after i get back from basic training and AIT so i can build the dream engine ive always wanted for my car, ive already got so much into car audio i dont want to sell it so i might as well build an engine for it. plan on eating up some imports sleeper style for sure!!!

I will repeat what I said. I wouldn't run NOS in my lawnmower. I had 4 friends that ran it, the "new super drug" for their motors. Two build, or used to build funny cars. One lost two pistons in one night. The other spent more time rebuilding his heads then he did driving his car. I would say that they know a little about putting some nice rides together. I have it in my one car, because it came with it. Looks pretty, (has never been hooked up). But it takes up too much space in my truck. As soon as I get enough time, it will go back in for a new truck pan and matt.
Be safe out their when you get out of AIT. Army has some good schools. With my MOS I had enough free time to take mail order courses with a couple "big name schools". Again, be safe.
