97 Taurus flashers and hazards

I have been having electrical problems with this car... from keyless entry to door switches to the latest flashers and hazards. After searching the posts, it appears this is a common problem. Could it be the multi function switch (MFS)? I also noticed that the wipers go turbo on the slow setting at times for no apparent reason. BTW, I didn't find this problem until the battery drained down twice in a week.
