chevy 350 or wankel rotory

i recently got a free 69 mgb and well i like the car and plan to run it for awhile. i was thinking the the little four cylinder wont be enough for me :evillol: so i was thinking of a few opintions. build the motor in the car already. place a rotory or make a beastlly creation by putting in a chevy 350. any sugestions would help. very limited resources :2cents: is about all i have.

the 350 would be far easier, not to mention cheaper. Rotaries, can be real tricky, especially since they're really difficult to rebuild expensive too.

Unless this is going to be a purpose built drag machine you really should go with the rotary.
If you shop around, you can probably find an '85 12A cheap.
1) lighter weight
2) way broader power band
3) way higher revs
You end up with more power, but at torque levels the stock driveline can handle.

The downside - a rotary with a header is WAY LOUD..

The decision really depends on the purpose of the car. If you want all-out power :evillol: go with the 350, but if oyu want to maintain relatively good handling choose the rotary. I myself would probably lean torward the rotary. I have a turbo one in my 1974 MG Midget. The increase in power is great and I enjoy terrific handling. The major problem was running the wiring harness for the fuel injection system.

The choice is yours.

rotary should be your way to go since u only have $.01 to spend. If you need help building or rebuilding a rotary feel free to email me. by the way they are cheaper and easier to rebuild than most people think. Also remember if you go with a high torque engine you will have to put a new drive train on your car to keep it straight and safe.
