Assuming the engine is overheating (and the fan is not switching on when it should), the next thing I would check is the temperature sensor that tells the fan to start (I don't have one of the newer TA's, but there must be a sensor that tells the fan to start when the temperature gets too high).
tacoma man.

you either have a bad temp switch, (fan relay gone bad had this problem on a 91 camaro), or just a blown fuse. have you tested the fan. i always checked mine with a battery charger and 2 nails. and the fan will start up.

Single fan? Have you checked the fan relay? As I remember from my 90, its up on the firewall, left side along side the fuel pump relay.
