Uhh let's see... the RB25DEt comes in lower end Skylines (and some other Nissan's), while the Rb26DEtt comes in the infamous and pricey GTR (and one bad-ass Nissan Wagon!)... the 26 is way better, my lazy-friend. Sr20??? Is a butterfly compared to a Tiger (TORA!!!!)!

But since you ask this question in '240sx' forum... I'm gonna assume you probably meant which one is better in a 240? Either would be bitching! But the Rb25 is probably alot more realistic... and has been done numerous times. also... what do you want out of it? Drift? Drag? What? Be a lil' more specific. An Rb26 swap would get expensive (as if the Rb25 was really that cheap!) and has been done with even the AWD/ATTESSA system intact. But those people shit money! An Sr20 can be done fairly easy... but everyone and their Japanese grandma has one of those installed in there S13 and S14's!!!

If you are asking questions like this... you should probably not be thinking of such a swap... not even Sr20DEt swap!!! Keep it stock (Do you even have a 240sx???) and learn the basics... do your homework on the different engines... and ask a more intelligent question!

ok so now that we have settled our childish differences. The 97 240s is automatic and i plan on putting the rb25det with manual tranny in it. What do you guys think. Im from ny long island and was wondering about any good nissan shops

BTW: Not to talk shit or dis... but I noticed that in your profile that you drive a VW GTi. I'm assuming that you are as excited as many about the whole drift thing and decided that you were gonna buy a 240sx and do a bad-ass JDM conversion. Am I right?

Assuming I am correct... I'll also assume you probably have never drifted? Don't get me wrong here. I'm not dori-kin and when I drifted I was not that great. But it's a cool 'sport' notheless and all should enjoy it new or OG. I'm not trying to disuade you here... but I think many will agree with me here that if you are just now getting into drift, and once again I'm assuming... you should probably cut back on the power. I would definately keep the car stock if you are new at this. And I'm sure everyone will agree.

KA to an RB is a huge step... you gotta understand this. I never swapped out my ol' KA in my S13 coupe when I had her and it did me just fine. Take heed or not...

honestly not to much drifting i will do some drifting yea but it will mostle be drag. Around here we mostly race just on street or track, dont get me wrong you always gotta mess around so i will be doing drifting also, but drifting is not a big issue. If your saying the rb will be really crazy im thikning the sr20 will be just fine. Am i right? how much power can u get out of that motor i need something fast and i also need to know what else i should do fuel blah blah blah. And like i said im new im coming from the veedub family.

Mostly Drag? Well I've seen it done with 240's... but why a 240? And why spend $$$ swapping in a JDM engine? I would just buy a Z31 or Z32 300ZX Turbo or Twin Turbo in that case! They are not the best drift cars... but they are excellent drag cars and come with powerful engines already!

well, drag racing....def. the RB if $$$ allows you to do so. and fuel? get this guys, my friend built a KA upgrading everything and alcohol injectors. running no less than 110-115 octane. Thanks to the sweet sweet alcohol. Its crazy. just thought id throw that in.

so which one would be easier with wireing and all that stuff on a 97 240. Some kid told me that u have to change a lot of things and its very hard for wiring, but i wasnt sure if he was talking about the old 240sx
