My backup lights are not working. I have a shop manual and a good vom. Fuse is good but have not checked the voltage there. Any advise? Thanks for any replys.

Can you check the wiring to the back lights in your trunk? I had a similar problem with my car and I had found out the junk in the back of my car just knocked the lightbulb out of its socket.

yup yup, what he said^^. its a commen problem with my 68, except its usualy my bliker/brake light. the next thing i would check after the fuse, (actauly i would probablyu check if first), but seeing as how you already checked the fuse, just look in the trunk at the actual bulbs, and the sockets to make sure that everything is as it should be, i cant think of where the actualy lights are mounted on the 72's, but no matter where, look at the sockets and lights.

I'll be checking for a bad ground too! A common problem. A vom is a life saver in these things. As long as the wire does not route through the steering collum, I should be ok. Thanks!

It was the ground that screws into the sheet metal. Sanded off the metal and put a new lug on.
