you would only need a new Prom burned I believe.

t5 probably wont last long.. depending on how you drive it, they wont hold up to a 350

im pretty sure all you have to do to change the 305 to a 350 is get the heads, intake, and the rotating assembly.

put your 305 heads and intake on to the 350 block, or find a pair of L98 heads 87 or newer. find a roller block with the dipstick on the passenger side or you'll have problems with your manifold dumping out over the dipstick hole, or just get a pair of headers. a 305 prom will run a 350 just fine except you'll get an SES light for lean mixture, but it wont effect drivability.

i heard they're thinking about bringing emissions testing back in michigan, that would really suck for me and a couple people i know who dont have catalytic converters..

you dont know what ur talking about,i have a 91 camaro tbi with the 5 speed and about 2 months ago i put a 350 up to the tbi injection and every time i drive it if i get on it the engine light comes on and when it comes on it feels like its running on 4 cyls.and its all because of the air fuel mixture being different for the 350,i get code 43 witch is the knock sensor and i also get the lean mixture code.if i would of know this i would have just put another 305 in cause this brand new 350 feels no different.only now i have all these mixture problems.

Tacoma: I always use www.mortec.com to run numbers. It's the most comprehensive list of block and head numbers I've seen on the web.
KaotiK: WTF!?! Emissions in MI!!! Holy Hell, that would blow!!! Who do we have to write to?

actually i do know what i'm talking about, i've done the swap several times. i'm willing to bet that if you change the knock sensor your problem will go away, i've had that problem before. just because the SES light says it's lean mixture does not mean your engine is running lean. the ecm gathers data from sensors, then compares it to a table written in the prom. the gathered data is lean compared to what the prom says it should be, therefor turning on the ses light, but...the ecm richens the mixture and problem solved. if your so worried about light being on then get a prom for a 350.
i've done the swap in camaro's, and recently swapped tbi into my 71 chevy using a 1990 donor car. i'm well familiar with fuel injection, i've even built my own engine harness. my buddy's camaro runs a 350 on a 305 prom, and my 71 chevy runs a 350 on a 305 prom, and i have not yet had a problem.

Thanks! My parents love my car but they both admitted to me that if they were to drive it on a Friday night, it would be impounded within two hours. I wonder if I can fight a speeding ticket by saying its a genetic handicap?

It was my daily driver for 7 years and I raced it in mud drags for 4 years so it's just getting tired. It is burning oil, both of the mains are leaking, forget about gas milage, and it just doesn't have the power it used to....But I'm still taking it to the sand dunes over the weekend
