Yesterday I put in a set of plugs and removed the dist. cap to look inside. Car started and I drove it around. Today I drove it about 5 miles and shut it off. When I tried to restart it all it did was turn over. It does not seem to be firing. Any ideasw>

Did you remove the distrib rotor? If yes most likely the screw backed out & the rotor is no longer on the distrib. Purchase some thread locker & re-install rotor/screw. Only need a small dab of locker.

I removed the cap and brushed the contact on the rotor and it started. How do you remove the rotor?

With the distrib cap off turn engine over by tapping key until screw is facing up.

We did that and there was no screw. The replacement does not have a screw hole. It must be stuck.
