if they were both stock which would win in a race?

The s2000, but barely. I really think it would depend on the drivers. Because they are really close.

i've raced my friend's s2000 from a roll, in 2nd gear doing 25 on the local freeway...both cars were completely stock at the time. we both got on it at the same exact time...we both were neck and neck then he started pulling just a tad...maybe 6 feet. then when i hit 3rd, i regained and pulled from him a bit...it was like this all the way till we hit 110. neither one of us could pull in front of eachother and no one won :(

I raced this one black s2000 with my 1g gs-t on the freeway we started at 50mph to like 110 I raped him like 4car ahead of him so I think gsx would rape it both stock and if you mod the s2000 and the gsx the gsx would rape it so buy a GSX :)

so wait...your car, that produces 195hp stock to the CRANK, beat an s2k which puts more horsepower at the WHEELS than you do, to the crank.....and you beat him by 4 cars?!!?..not to mention your cars heavier stock......Are you sure the s2k was racing?
a stock GSX would get raped on the highway....

people dont quite understand drivetrain loss.. yes, you do lose some top end power but it is as little as 1 or 2 miles per hour. I hear everyone miss using that term. an s2k and a gsx from a 20mph or a 60mph roll will be all about a driver race.
my car isnt stock but i have been in many AWDs that are, and i gotta say the AWD will neck and neck an s2k all the way to 150.
dont use drivetrain loss as an excuse for DSMs being slow on the top end.
ok done ranting now.. carry on :D :D

A s2000 might make 240hp but that isent untill like 8000rpms. Below 6000rpm it only makes 150hp, So basicly thats why it would be such a close race.
If you launched the gsx it would be a very close race to the 1/4 mile.

Man if you all are getting raped by s2k and i just about can rape them in my eg hatch ls i would rape some of you guys thats nice to know lol which im running 14sec stock lol
:screwy: :screwy: :screwy: haha thats funny, my friends msp would rape your civic and its stock, but really i think the gsx is better(not saying its faster or anything) they look better, and alot of other stuff i dont feel like typing. my friends msp beet a stock s2k on the highway and lost to a not so stock gs-t(mine) and a stock gs-x on the highway, so i think the gsx will win but i dont know, dont really know that much about the s2k, dont like them, i mean hell go get a evo8 rs for about the same price and stomp the shit out of both :evillol:

I agree with Midnight Outlaw. I would agree the GSX has it from the launch. but on the highway with a S2k? i dunno, if both were stock, i'd have to go with the S2K, but its all in the driver

A friend of mine dropped an Ls/vtec motor in his civic HB, and he ran a BEST of 14.9x, while pulling 15.1's consistently (and yes he's a great driver). So I highly doubt you are running 14s on a stock integra motor.

I give a shit about it, so start using it. A honda with a motor swap isn't stock. We don't play that game. Also, don't expect everyone to know Honda lingo, and we won't expect you to know our lingo. Take it easy on someone if they don't know what an 'P28 EG/EK hatch LS VTEC' is. We don't mix and match engines/head codes, so forgive us.
To the original author, I sure as hell hope an S2000 that costs as much as a 300hp STi/EVO is faster than our cars, stock. I learned a long time ago that stock doesn't matter. Find me an import racer that will be stock forever. I have no hard feelings if a smaller, lighter, car with a highly engineered motor that hits 9x00rpm could have beat my car stock. Keyword stock. Our savior is that many street DSM's owned by real life people run 10's, and I have yet to see any s2000's that do the same.

Car-Stats.com Report for 2000 Honda S2000
Obtained from MT February, 2000
0-60: 5.2 Transmission: Manual
1/4 Mile: 13.8
1/4 Mile Speed: 100
while often most people don't get such get times out of these cars. most do run very low 14's in the 1/4 mile. and in every mag i have here sitting in front of me, none list anything higher than 14.4
though very quick, the eclipse gsx usually manages to pull off very low 15's and very high 14's
as was stated, drivetrain loss isn't as bad as people make it out to be.

I raced two S2000s at the track one night. One was running mid 14s, the other high 13s. Didnt matter much since i was running mid/high 12s on the 14b. But they go pretty good, I wouldnt talk too badly about them. And the 99-00 Civic Si stock ran mid 15s. Only a half second behind a typical stock GSX. The Si had a better power to weight ratio, the GSX has better traction. Too many factors to compare, most have been covered already.

I know what you mean when you talk about the Si. Those little clunkers are surprisingly fast and can actually put up pretty stiff competition with just the big three (intake/exhaust/header). Somehow I feel those Hondas come with better trannies unforuntely... we have 5 eclipses in the extended family :ylsuper: , and they are all 2G manual (2 GS-Ts and 3 GSs). ALL of them have shifting issues (literally REFUSE to shift when cold, grind in 1st and 2nd, don't want to go into reverse, etc etc) . I think Hondas have smoother trannies and use that to their advantage in races. But 2G eclipses are still the SHEAATTT :bigthumb:
hellah fresh
09-01-2004, 02:16 PM
hondas does have a better tranny. specially if they have short sifters. My friends 93 integra GS hung and beat a 2002 dodge ram v8 by a fender haha... only because he took off first and then side by side all the way he only had an intake and ehaust... but i still love my 96 slow RS =y
