I never done a kit that gives a full engine in the hood. So I would like to, but seems like my luck is down because every single model kit I buy, their isn't an engine.

Can you guys help out and list as much kits as possible that have engine detail?

With engine detail their comes a fully functional hood right? I noticed Guiddy's Celica in the Model Gallery, NICE! First pic looks REAL!!!
Is that the kit or a custom job?

Also while looking up finished FTO models, i found this page that has a finished kit of a Supra from Tamiya. It has engine detail and lift-able hood too! AMAZING! Is this a custom or standard kit?

The Link: http://hkmcs.uhome.net/mysupra.html

Really appreciate any help, thanks!

The Tamiya Supra comes with an engine; Guiddy's Tamiya Celica GT-Four come with an engine; all the Tamiya R32 Skylines come with engines.

Many American kits come with engines. Almost no Fujimi kits come with engine (exception: Enthusiast Series kits)

If you can get a Tamiya box in hand, look for the phrase "complete engine detail." Do not confuse it for "complete underside detail," because that means no engine.

I build nothing without the engine detailed to the hilt!! The Supra you linked to had no special hinges, the hood was only propped-up on it's corners. Few kits have full hinges, and even less that are operational. I've made them myself out of brass shimstock before, not an easy project!!

The Revell Integra Type R has an engine and liftable hood. Doesn't curbside also mean "no engine"?

Curbside is no engine, no interior. Nothing but a body shell and wheels. They are good kits for working on exterior detailing and painting skills.

Actually....Curbside is no engine, but full interior. It's what you would see if a car was sitting "curbside". Slammer refers to a car with only a shell and wheels.

Lots of replies in only one day! You guys are good! Thanks for the input everyone! If theirs any others, feel free to add em.

Guess its time to go shopping! ;)

Also, since the Lancer EVO is my favorite car, anyone ever encounter one with engine detail? I have seen that EVO with the operating door and engine detail, NICE!! I know its custom but is their any EVO's with engine?
