i was wondering do you think i could bet a dodge dakota r/t. my car is stock with a 5 spd manual. his is also stock.

If your a good driver, the Maxima will beat it.:)

Fuck that. maxima has no chance in hell. I have an R/T and it will run 97 in the 1/4. I run up with Trans Ams and shit like that. And it is stock.

How fucking fast do you think a Trans Am will run in the quarter. 130 or something. It will run 101 to 106 depending on the driver. I am running a 360 C.I. w/250 Hp. at the wheels and 345 Ft. Lbs. of tourque. I will run 97 at my best time in the quarter, unless your running modified maximas you dont stand a chance. I used to eat those up in chicago when I had a 2000 Eclipse GT. I got beat by an all stock R/T once. I know my R/T now coupd eat any maxima you can get(unmodified) If you think you can beat it, race one and videotape it, If I can find a maxima 5-speed I will race and videotape it. I have chance in loosing. The only truck that can beat me is a lightning. I am putting a couple of grand in my truck in about a month and I will have around 430hp and 500ft. Lbs of tourque. Put a couple of grand in yours, eat my rubber is what I would have to say to you. I will take a lightning and those shitty maximas too, I can take the maxima now anyways.:biggrin2:

you're all crazy. a 5.9 dakota is a bullet. i love maxima's. more than the average person, but a 5.9 dakota will totally beat a maxima, and a trans am. i saw a trans am get smoked. i mean like 4-5 car lengths smoked. I have a 5 sped se maxima and am fully aware of its capabilities. it ain't winning.

This is what I plan on doing with my truck, what do you think? I dont know if I could get all of it on without it harming the others, but I am going to find a dealer to let me know about it. The numbers on Hp. is either what the website said or the actuall product website said, so you never know until its done.

you really think that the tornado gives you 10 hp? you think adding all that stuff up really give you a true estimated hp of 400+. its just like me saying.

2) catback exhuast - 10 hp

4) upgraded ecu - 50 hp

5) tornado air - 10 hp

total extra hp from mods - 100hp

+ stock hp 222.

Alright, well, everyone needs to go to edmunds.com, and check out the specs for an R/T. 0-60 in 8.3 seconds, which seems about right considering it is a TRUCK with a 4 speed SLUSHBOX weighing almost 4000 pounds. And if you really are running with Trans Ams, then they are a few of the worst drivers in history. Admittedly, that 0-60 time seems a little slow, so maybe you could run a 7.5 in perfect conditions, but a 95-01 Maxima SE 5sp. will do 6.6 or 6.7 all day. And my 2k3 6 speed will get to 60 somewhere between 6.0 and 6.2 The only way an R/T can run with a Max is if the driver sucks. period

i definitely really have a 95 max.
If you say it's faster i'll take your word, you seem more knowledgable than i am, but that's a waste of such a nice sized engine. it's almost 2x the size.

Ok, just checkin, it does seem engine size, that the dodge would be

faster. I dont know how you drive your Maxima, it just seems to me

that you might of have a better idea, I do see where your comming

from now. The Maxima does have one mean engine for it size though,

and Im sure the body weight, they arent very heavy. Ill kinda bet it

might be close race stock for stock, but the Maxima would definetly

Obviously these are not THE most reliable stats on the web but the Dodge road test comes from Motor Trend magazine so you take it for what you will. I personally have raced and beaten at least one 5.9 R/T in my 2002 Sentra SE-R Spec V, and I know for a fact I'm not as fast as my Dad's old '96 Maxima SE so....

the weight on my 95 is 2895 lbs with the seats

we're also forgetting about gear ratios here, and though it goes without saying, the 5 sp. max has an extra cog compared to the R/T, which means higher gear ratio, plus sticks will almost always get off the line quicker, unless the driver sucks:bandit:

i raced a slightly modded(exhaust mod) dodge r/t 5.9 with my 2000 max 5sp, and i was stock. the first race i was alone in my max and he had a passenger we took off very close to each other and maintained a tie through the quarter mile, then we raced again this time he told his passenger to get out...the second time around he was in front of me by about 2 feet. huge engine diff compared to the max's 3.0 liter, a cai and i think i will buss his ass. goes to show that nissans v-6's will match or for the most part beat a lot of american v-8 bullshit

definitely, i have a 95 se 5spd witha stillen catback, weapon-r carbon fiber intake and a tornado and i hang with gt 5.0's til mid 4th gear and i usually beat the 4.6's... it's all about power per liter, and power-to-weight. not to mention how well the maxima's geared
