Keyless Entry Help Wanted!

I have just purchased a used 1997 Nissan Maxima GXE. My car didn't not come with a keyless entry remote or it's original key. I have already bidded on several keyless entry remotes and would like to know how I would know if my car even came with the factory keyless entry. My 97 GXE came with keyless entry, so I'd say its pretty safe to say it was standard on all 97 maximas. just make sure you get one from your year and that its for a maxima, not sentra, altima, etc.

The keyless entry (keychain remote) was part of the comfort and convience optional package on the 97 GXE. Other items in that package included a drivers side power seat, visor vanity lighted mirrors,power trunk release,variable speed wipers and a security system. If your car has these options ,it should support the remote key fob.

Have dealer parts or service dept run the vin to check the options that were factory installed on the car to see if it has it.
