Ok so i want to change my manual tranny fluid on my N/A. Is the plug toward the firewall side or toward the radiator on the tranny. And does it have a little rubber thingy by it? also if i lift my car up on jack's wont it leak out if its towards the firewall side. And if it is is it more like under the windshield wiper fluid? cause i know where the drain plug is cause it says oil drain right under a bolt what about the fill. Please give me directions as if im laying under the car looking up at the tranny. Will it say Oil fill by the bolt or what thanks ive been worried about my fluid forever now and i really just want to get it done.

The best way to see it IMO is from the drivers side wheel. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the right, and then see if you can see thorugh the inner fender skirt (the plastic thing in the wheel well). I believe there is like a oval hole in it and if you take a fashlight and look straight you should see it. Might need to take the wheel off. Otherwise take the battery out, the plastic battery holding plate, and the metal plate. Then look for the plug. the best way to get it out IMO is to take a good size open end wrench and push down while someone else in under and the car is using pliers to hold the wrench on the plug so it does not slip off.

It is rubber and it does have a nipple to pull on to get it out. Mine was very hard to get out.

ok so you just pull the rubber thing out it will come out without breaking then you fill it up and plug it back up? Also i mainly needed to know this how your suppose to fill it up until it comes out what if the front of the car is jacked up cause i can get to it from the bottom of the car i can put my hand in there and stuff but when i go to fill it up from the top does the car have to be standing flat and i think i can get to it by only taking off my intake tube .

Just drain it then then put the drain plug back in, then put a pipe into the the fill plug and a funnel into the other end. The car should be as level as it can be otherwise you will have fluid coming out as you pour it in. I think it is like 2.1 qts.

NOOo what im asking is will that rubber peace break like just about every other plastic or rubber thing mitsubishi made that you take it out once it breaks cause i will have no way of getting to NAPA if it does and i have school tomorrow dude i need to finish this by tonight then wash my car and wax it. Then beat off to some porn and go to sleep.

Also explain this Jake(eclipseRST) Told me that it was a bolt that you unscrew and your telling me its that rubber thing i see then wtf? i dont want to pull that out and then i can never put it back in again and stuff so when i do pull it out i just pop it back in really easy or what?

There is a bolt for the drain plug. There is a rubber plug for the fill plug.

Here I just remembered about this: http://home.comcast.net/~ghettoraid/guides/transfluid.htm
