Converting 4 ohms to 2 ohms

I'm a little new with installing car audio but I got my system in and it works great. The thing is I been trying to figure out if I could get my sub to 2 ohms. It's a 12inch Polk Audio Momo 1000watt and I have a fosgate 1.0f cap and a fosgate 1000.1BD 1000watt amp. The RMS rating is better for 2 ohms. If anyone could shoot me some tips or links that would be great. THanks!

you got a sub rated at 500 watts rms at 4 ohms...
you got an amp rated at 500 watts rms at 4 ohms...
so what's your problem again?

For you to get to 2 ohm you will need another set of voice coils!!

let me re-phrase that,
you got a 4 ohm sub rated @ 500 watts...cool
you got an amp that will give you 500 watts @ 4 ohms..more cool
and plus you said it sounds great...more cool-er-er
bbuutttt...if you really want to try'n get another 250 watts out of your amp, then you should get another sub like the one you got and parallel it off of the first sub. to do that you need to wire from your amps (+) to the first subs (+) and from there to the second subs (+), and then you wire from your amps (-) to the first subs (-) and then from there to the second subs (-). that setup will present a two ohm load to your amp allowing it to pass 750 watts to your subs and give each sub 375 watts rms
