No Oil???? 94 Lt1

I was driving home the other night and my low oil gauge went on. I was only 2 minutes from home so i parked the car and checked the oil the following moring. Bone dry! I have my oil changed every 3-4 k miles and i always run castrol synthetic. I rarely check my oil because i always get it changed, and i have never been low on oil at the time of service. Ok, so obviously im gonna keep an eye on it now. I don't see any oil leaks anywhere and no smoke out of the exhaust. Where did the oil go? I gues it could be possible the last time i had it changed they only put a qt or so in and i have been running on that for the last 3k?
Any info would be great.

PS car only has 37k on it

yea, just keep an eye on it and see if its leaking anywhere. Maybe they stripped your drain plug out or somethin. Look for spots under the car...
