Hi,
Yestarday i let my dad use my 95 3.0L caravan. he decided to put some high octane gas from esso around the corner.. he fills up and pulls the car in the parking spot to use the washroom in the gas station.. comes back and the van wont start.. engine turns over, there is a spark but wont start.
so i pushed the car home and unplugged the battery, this morning. plugged it back and it started.. rather rough running and low rpm but started fine..
so i am all happy and thinking maybe it was acomputer reseting problem cause of the use of high octane gas and pulled in the garage to clean it..10mins ago i was done cleaning and it wouldnt start again..pissing me off.. it doesnt make the "bzzzzzt" sound when i turn the ignition to On position so i am thinking it is the fuel pump.. but before getting it towed to the shop i need some advice on this.. can i change the fuel pump or is it shop job?
what else do you think the problem may be?
thank youall

It's unlikely the grade of gas caused this.
You should download the fault codes stored in the computer and work from there.
Chysler computer codes (80-95 Chysler's):
Chysler faults codes are stored in the computer for up to 50 ignition starts. Each code is two digits. Beware that some problems can generate multiple faults codes. The code's meaning (i.e. faulty sensor) can be found by doing a web search using keywords "Chryler computer codes".
To obtain codes: Turning the ignition key on-off-on
three times (don't start the engine) will put the
computer into diagnostic mode. Watch the "check engine" light. Count the flashes for each digit which is followed by a pause between digits. Two digits to a code with the end of the list being code 55.
To reset the codes, turn the ignition key on-off-on
50-55 times (don't start the engine).

i checked the codes but gives me no codes..since i disconnected the battery overnight that erased all the codes.. and since the car can't start it wont write new codes..
i used to get 3-2 EGR code...

so after reading olds posts i went downstairs and cranked the engine, well didnt start, went in the back of the van.. with all my might banged on the floor just on top of the fuel tank then cranked the key and vrooommm started right up..
So i know its the fuel pump..too bad there is 60Liters of fuel in the tank...

Any luck yet? I am in the same boat, have replaced the pump, filter, dist cap, rotor, plugs, battery, o2 sensor, and computer. Sometimes it (the pump) whirs, sometimes it doesn't. No whir, no go. No patience left.
