HELP!! w/my GTI

i jsut got my vw golf gti 95 and whenever i start the car teh idle is jumping and the beats not constant and it also throws black smoke but after a min or so it goes back to normal does anyone know wwhat might be wrong with it..... i need help with this thing thansk for readin and its a 2.0L and there was k and n filter whcih i removed and got a stock one seems to be incomplete combustion of gas but dont know whats causin it

Hi, most probably you have a liking valve seal in one of the cylinders, (excuse my spelling cause I´m mexican :ylsuper: ) this will cause some oil to go inside of the cylinder when the car is off, then by the time you start it, it will burn that oil out (that explains the black smoke) and it will stop when all the oil is burned (1 or 2 min, aprox). Then the idle will be fine. It´s not a big problem, you could fix it yourself if you get a valve spring opressor to get the seals out. Change them all at once.
