89 Civic electrical system question - blown fuse or worse?

Little background here from this newbie: 89 Civic had a flat tire, GEICO-dispatched truck came to fill it, guy plugged in a small compressor into the cig lighter to try to fill the tire.

Turned on the car (started fine) and the lighter wasn't sending power to the small compressor, didn't work at all. Simultaneously the dome light went out, clock darkened, etc. Radio presets have all been reset to the defaults. Trunk-open warning light is now permently on, even when trunk is closed, but when open, warning light glows at a brighter red. Headlamps seem to work fine, radio works fine except for losing presets, power locks are good, etc.

What happened, and how do I fix it so everything works normally again - is this a simple thing like a blown fuse, or something bigger (short in the system that is more serious)? Battery seems to be working fine. What can I do to get things back together? Car is stuck in a dark parking garage and I can't find a freakin' flashlight to get in there and really see the fuses.

Thanks.

I've accidently knocked a wire off the back of my cig lighter, it shorted and that shit happened, get down and have a look at the rear connection for it

Yeah, you've got a short there in the center console, the electricity is finding it's own path and it causing all this weird stuff to happen. GL
