Looks like a "UT" model sculped in some sort of clay, porcelain, resin or whatever.
Nice piece but I feel sorry for the guy paying the asking price or above!

So the question is does "en mabre" mean "on marble" or "made from marble"?
If it's a hand-carved marble sculpture, maybe it's worth the money, but if it's just sitting on a marble pad, well...yeah ;)

Here's a rough translation through http://babelfish.altavista.com :
------------------------------------------
"Sublimate McLaren F1 out of marble.
McLaren F1
(70x32x20 cm)
Superb sculpture carried out starting from incrustations of 7 different marbles!
The body was carved in a block of trés the noble white Carrara marble marble.
Each élément(avoid-break, headlights, nuts, tires, rims, title...) of this car was then cut, then encrusted in the body: on the whole, 70 parts make this small jewel!
An exceptional and single collector's item in the world which required more than 1500 working hours ;et which are dated and signed by the S.Pinaud artist.
Do not hesitate to contact me to see other photographs or any additional information
Possible delivery in France or throughout the world on Merciestimate to make contact."
------------------------------
So it's made of marble, according to the claim.

I think Phil is asking if the guy is allowed to use the logo, considering copyright laws.
And the reason I point that out is because I don't know, and would like the answer myself :D

Oh yeah - I guess that was what he meant... :banghead: :loser:
Probably not without McLaren Cars' permission. If he decided to do this on his own, I think he can, but now that the item is for sale, McLaren may have an issue with it. I'm not a copyright attorney though.
