I am replacing the engine in my 96 tercel. I have some questions about the process.....It looks as if I will have to take the transmission out as well. If anyone knows of an easier way or if I have done it wrong please let me know. Also I don't know how to get my cv joints apart? What's the trick? I have never done an engine replacement before and I don't have a service manual for a 1996 Tercel. Thanks

I've do that on my '90 and still work fine now. For mine the manual transmission come with engine and pass out very roughly, but it is feasible. You can remove your joint by withdrawing shock absorber before and leave those the transmission.

response me for next trick
