Right now I have a 97 Jetta 2.0L 8V, I am looking at buying a 240sx. Right now I am still researching the car and engine. I came to the conclusion that the stock engine is crap...so I was woundering if anybody had a few suggestions or tips they could give me to help me make my future 240sx at least an 11 second car???

stock engine isnt crap. it depends on the compression. rebuild the engine if needed. then turbo the KA.

its a very reliable engine. very good for drag. if you were going to set it up to drift then you would want an sr20det. but since you want a drag car build up the KA.

ya you should check out the other thread with the KA-T dyno ( http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=278965 ), it can show it's potential when built.

with the money used on buying a new engine, you could rebuild your KA to make it even stronger, then gogo turbo :evillol:

If you want an eleven second car, the SR20 probably isn't the way to go. I'm not saying the SR can't run elevens because it can. I'm just saying it is easier to make an eleven second KA or RB. Stock engine being crap depends on who cares for it. Don't steriotype. And read as much as you can on everything about the car and read Maximum Boost by Corky Bell. If you can, read Turbochargers by Hugh Macinnes.

If your looking for 240's just check around autotrader. Personally I like the 89-93 240 bodystyles but the later 240's are pretty good looking too. They arent too expensive, fun to drive, and I love the handling.

To be completely honest with you I used to be a big muscle car fan and I know how to do tons of things to them so naturally I wanted a good looking Chevelle, Nova, or Camaro but I found my 1993 240SX SE and test drove it and just fell in love with the quickness, speed, and great handling.

Good luck finding one man
