i got a 2004 tacoma with the v6 and im looking for a air intake. well i want to know if i get a intake would my m.p.g. increase or decrease i know its a dumb question but i think of it as the more air goes in the more fuel also goes in so it wont run lean. i found out about this page : gadgetonline.com/airinduction.htm and im wondering about doing the same. im curious because the window display when i got my truck said 17 city 20 hwy for fuel economy

your m.p.g. will increase.
if your tight on cash go the gadget way it is so cheap and it works.

thanks for the info but is removing the air box elbow and doing the deckplate a good idea since i only have 104 miles on my truck right now or should i wait a little bit and does anyone know if these procedures will void my warranty. thanks guys

If you buy a black deckplate and cover it, it is totally unnoticable. You have to look for it to see it. Just be sure and use the "Sensor Safe" silicon sealant.

i would probably break in the motor first then do it and i don't think it voids the warrenty because it is just letting more air in like a TRD filter or K&N.

One way it would void the warranty is if you install it and get into some deep water or heavy rain without covering the deckplate hole. Any problems resulting from that would not be covered if they found the deckplate.
